| King’s Lynn Festival Chorus
Tom Appleton: Music Director
Meg Bragle: Mezzo-soprano | John Byron: Piano
The Spring concert marks exciting new beginnings for the King’s Lynn Festival Chorus and the title Ein Neues Lied, A New Song suggests just this. This is the first concert under the leadership of music director Tom Appleton, a dynamic young man who is not only musical director of two other choirs and in demand as a guest conductor, but also a member of the renowned Monteverdi Choir.
Through a rather eclectic mix including music from Bach, Schütz, Dvorak and even The King’s Singers, the programme will explore songs, sacred and secular, from composers, old and more contemporary, with a common theme of new in the broadest sense. Acclaimed mezzo Meg Bragle joins the choir in Copland’s In the Beginning.
